Our Schools, Our Children, Our Future

About Jill Davis

My community activism and my professional life have always focused on the well-being of children and families with an underlying belief that communities have a key role in supporting healthy children and families. For the past ten years I have facilitated collaborative partnerships with seven school districts in Anoka County. I understand how policies and bureaucratic systems impact children and families. For the past 15 years, I have been a strong advocate for communities and public schools having strong partnerships that promote healthy neighborhoods and healthy children. As community activist and in my professional life, I have always had a creative and positive approach to solving problems and addressing barriers to success. I know that to bring about effective change, there needs to be positive leadership that inspires teamwork by many people and that the leadership and the team need to effectively use data and community knowledge to inform the development and implementation of new strategies and practices. I will be a strong advocate for our public education system being proactive, responsive and accessible. I strongly believe that for every challenge that is presented, that there is an opportunity for growth and success. I believe that Minneapolis Public Schools is on the right path and can support the academic success and personal growth of our children.
